Before…after

  • The Graduate Center , CUNY The Urban Exhibition Space, The Graduate Center CUNY 365 fifth Avenue New York (map)

In her exhibition Before, Elva Mulchrone, Visual artist and Fulbright Scholar to the Graduate Center CUNY will present her work. Through paper, wood, canvas, linen and video Mulchrone’s pieces, exploring medium and color, feature disconnected and obstructed mapping, which allude to both personal narratives and photographs made by children who face social immobility and inequality from multiple perspectives.

She will speak about how her work is inspired by research and produced during her Dublin City Council Incubation Space Award in 2024, and whilst she was Artist in Residence at Dublin City University 2022/23.

After is her preliminary affective response, on paper, to the totality of the extraordinary variety and depth of research at the Graduate Center, her conversations with esteemed Professors and her affective response creatively to being in the hub of NYC and personally experiencing its striking inequalities, sounds, vibrations and social climate.

After has now been extended and is now showing on the ground floor at the Graduate Center - February 14th 6:00pm
